Emo is hott!

Well, I'm definitely getting used to this college thing. It's rather fun! My roommate is from Canada and it's really cool because she's the only one in our dorm so everyone comes by to visit just to see her: consequently, I've met a lot of really cool people so far!
Oh, and classes are pretty fun. Which is wierd, I know, but I'm a music major so almost everything I'm doing has to do with that and it's really sweet. Oh, but never be late for Music Theory! Scottie Prebys is a great guy, but if you're late, you don't get in! And then you miss assignments and fail the class. Don't ask me how I know. But my roommate knows, too. And another kid whose name sounds like a law firm: Weston Shick. Isn't that a great "novel name?" I mean c'mon, wouldn't it make for a great storyline to have the suave and sexy Weston Shick (who looks a lot like your favorite James Bond) poking around for clues in a seriously well written who-done-it type murder novel?! Methinks it would.
Anyway, other than that (er, uh... i mean... I AM AWESOME!) my classes are going great. I'm a bit busy but hey, it's okay. Unfortunately it's Sunday night and I should be in bed right about now because I do have to get up at 7:00 tomorrow morning. So, I think I will cut this blog short, but never fear, I haven't forgotten a word of the day: emo, which my roommate has decided means "emotional artistic." If you don't know, it's a kind of music and the kids who consider themselves emo are very cute and just sort of funny sometimes. It's great!

I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!!!

Well, the Hobbit is officially not here anymore. She left us for Virginia to have a fun-filled year of learning and mischief... probably more of the latter than the former! Magdalena, Constancia, my sister (Lunchbox), another friend whom we'll call Mickey and I went to the airport to say goodbye at 7:15 on Wednesday morning. Yeah, it was pretty early... darn plane *grrr* But, we all made it... even Judit, who was decked out in her "These-don't-fit-in-my-bag outfit." Anyway, after saying our goodbyes and talking to her through the glass, Magdalena, Constancia, Lunchbox and I made our way to the Perkins.
We each ordered various breakfast foods... Magdalena scoffed at Lunchbox's choice of French Toast. She apparently doesn't like it, but she does enjoy balogna sandwiches at 6 in the morning! Yes, that is what she ate before going to the airport. Oh, and did I mention that she woke up at 5:30 to beat her parents to the bathroom so that she could shower??? Constancia figures she has an OCD for showering. After teasing Magdalena for a while, our food came and we started eating. Constancia decided to poor ketchup on her hashbrowns (from one of those squeeze bottles) and said something that sounded like, "I really wanna empty one of these and fill it up with butter so I can use it in a water fight!" To which I replied, "You know 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter' has a squeeze bottle like that." Everyone sort of looked at me funny and I said something about thinking she said "butter" but it turns out she really said "water" (laughter ensued... at my expense)
Word of the Day: Stick-game... because now it seems as though I will NEVER find out what that all entails :(

Born Free

Okay guys, I have a rather startling announcement to make. I am head over heels in love! I'm serious, guys. I just had my very first motorcycle ride and I don't know how I'll ever get into a car again. *Backing up.* My friend/wingmate Megan's daddy has a motorcycle and he was planning on giving me a ride last year when he came to pick up Megan, that never worked out, so he gave me a ride just now. Oh man, it was the best thing ever! The only thing I could compare it to would be cantering bareback through an open field. *Sigh* Yup, I'm in love with the open road, the wind in my face, and endless possibilities.

In other news, I got in just fine. I really almost had a heart attack trying to carry all my luggage out of the airport. But I got to Katie's and the next day we headed over to good ol' CC. I'm just down the hall from where I used to be, actually I'm in Mary Beth and Katie's old room, so that's kind of cool and kind of weird all at once. Sydney and I have been getting (now) our room organized and all that fun stuff. (It's not really that much fun. . .) I was on the welcoming committee, so I spent most of yesterday helping frosh move in. That was quite a bit of fun. Except I got really used to coming up to moms and dads and telling them to go check in at the Commons before they unload. So one time I see a van pull up, a mom and dad get out, so I run up to them and tell them to go to the Commons, they look at me funny, but didn't protest. I looked into the van expecting to see a freshman, instead there was a guy from my own class. I had just told a sophomore's parents to go to freshman orientation! Oh well.

The only other big thing that's happened so far, is my moldy bedding. I had left all my sheets, blankets, towels, pillow, etc at Katie's for the summer. I had put them in a garbage bag and some moisture must have gotten in, because when I opened it, I was greeted by the lovely sight (and smell) of fuzzy green, red, and yellow. Argh! I've managed to save the blankets and towels thanks to bleach I hijacked from a senior's room. (Maybe not the smartest idea, but she didn't seem to mind.) And Mary Beth gave me sheets. So as soon as I get a pillow, I'm set. What is it with the begining of the year and bedding? Last year it was being shipped and I didn't get it for a week! But overall, everything's been going smoothly.

I have been bent to the will of Bob!

So, Judit and I are getting ready to leave for a more different town than the one we are living in for the summer. We are taking Bob (judit's mom) along with us. Well, Bob told Judit to pack her Sunday clothes, so Judit turned to me and said, "will you braid my hair?" I replied: "Okay. Pack your Sunday clothes first." To which she retorted, "Argh! Between you and Mum, I feel like I'm up against the Two Towers!"
But anyway, I haven't blogged in a coon's-age so I figured it was as good a time as any. Plus that, we're going on an adventure in less than an hour (if the dishes get done soon), so I will probably post a continuation upon our return.
So, what have I been doing all summer that prevented me from blogging as much as I usually do? Pretty much living at 3M. I sort and pack mask filters 8 hours a day, 7 days a week there and I rarely have time for other going-on. Or, if I do have time, they are barely the crazy-go-nuts things which this blog is founded on and therefore are unsuitable to write about... or at least in my opinion. Well, there you have it: my excuse for my "leave of absence."
Word of the Day: Warped because Lorena went to the Warped Tour and saw such bands as My Chemical Romance and Dropkick Murphys, Yellowcard, Relient K and Billy Idol (strange, I know, but still kinda cool in a vintage rock sort of way!) But I will definitely let her tell you all about that! (if she ever blogs!)
